999 pure silver kettle Kaijimon

Good afternoon! Today we would love to introduce our artwork that calls Kaijimon.

The design is inspired by a traditional decorative flourish named ‘Kaijimon’, which hails from thousands of years of evolution. It is still upheld by people nowadays, and the evolution not only takes place in plastic arts but has promoted the symbol to be of a culture and a nation till now. Kyoto Zuihodo wishes to take the Kaijimon pattern from its former home in ancient classical furniture and ceramics and transfer it onto silverware. The aim is to marry the traditional pattern to the traditional skills from metalworking art and thus create this unique version of sliver kettle with a rich history for collectors.

Starting from a piece of sterling silver and using tools that have been passed down and retained from the Meiji era, the body of the kettle is made by hammering and completely eschewing the welding method. Its conceptual shape, Choshi, is characterised by the clean twists of the top and bottom and by its graceful lines and rich spout through which flows excellent water. Hammering tools are the patrimony of Meiji era and are made by repeating a trimming technique to meet the requirements for craftsman to create specific patterns for silver pots and kettles, so they can hammer the unique vein lines.

本日は純銀製芸術銀瓶「回字紋」をご紹介いたします。

回と言う字は永遠に切れる事がなく、回り続ける事から、縁起の良い文字として古くから使用されてきました。伝統を重んじる京都瑞鳳堂らしい作品の一つでもあります。

一枚の銀板を手絞りと言う技法で打ち延べて成形し、ひとつひとつ模様を施します。時間と労力を惜しまず、守り続けてきた道具、技術を駆使し作り上げます。

そして99.9%の純銀にこだわりを持ち作り続けているからこそ、これほど良い作品が生まれるのです。(ちなみに99.9%以下は日本の法律で純銀と呼ぶことが認められておりません。)

大家午安! 今天我為你們介紹的是純銀製藝術銀瓶「回字紋」.

漢字的「回」,類似一個迴圈的圖形,象徵著把四周的吉祥與運勢以及財富,藉由這個輪圈,回向至周遭的人.銀壺與茶藝術更代表著平靜的心靈,「回字紋」表著著平靜中獲得喜悅與快樂.

從一片純銀片開始,使用明治時期所傳承、保留下的工具,鎚打製出壺身與顯著的回字紋,完全避免了焊接.器形中廣圓潤飽滿,上緣下底逐漸微收,鎚打出一道道回字,再以豐富的經驗布滿壺身.

明治期所傳承下的鎚打工具,皆為當時的職人為了打造特定的銀壺紋路而一再修整而製,方能鎚打出獨有的紋理.使用頂級、質量純粹的貴金屬為媒材,把日本傳統文化與金工藝術融為一體,每把銀壺皆為日本純手工製作,京都瑞鳳堂發揮日本武士精神,不論創作過程的艱難、耗費時間甚久,皆能戰勝自我,細膩地鎚打,為達心中期待呈現出最完美的藝術品給藏家們.

Pure Tin Tea Container ‘Botan Karakusa’

Good afternoon. We would love to introduce our brilliant artwork.

Botan karakusa (aprony and Japanese aabesque) is one of traditional botanical pattern in Japan.

By applying traditional techniques to the production of a lid that is very high in accuracy (roundness), the lid is made without any thread on it. Due to its perfect roundness, no matter what angle it is put on from above, it can freely and slowly fall down, and tightly vacuum out the extra air inside. The sealing effect of double lids is very good, and it can be used in storing tea leaves, coffee beans (powder), herbs, and Koboku (fragrant wood), in order to keep it fresh for a long Era and avoid loss of nutrition or change in taste.

皆様こんにちは。本日は正錫製茶壷「牡丹唐草」をご紹介いたします。

唐草紋に牡丹花とその葉を配した紋様で、着物や和柄紋様としてよく使用される牡丹唐草。錫の茶壷は陶器などと違い熱を加えないので、ゆがみがございません。そして通気性もありませんので、中の物を湿気や日光から守ります。京都瑞鳳堂の茶壷の蓋は二重構造になっており、上から蓋を軽く載せるだけで、蓋自身が下に下がり密閉してくれます。茶葉、コーヒー豆、ハーブまたは香木などの長期保存に大変向いております。

This is Tin tea container that calls Kikko.

Kikko (a tortoise shell) is an emblematic of longevity in Japan.

By applying traditional techniques to the production of a lid that is very high in accuracy (roundness), the lid is made without any thread on it. Due to its perfect roundness, no matter what angle it is put on from above, it can freely and slowly fall down, and tightly vacuum out the extra air inside. The sealing effect of double lids is very good, and it can be used in storing tea leaves, coffee beans (powder), herbs, and Koboku (fragrant wood), in order to keep it fresh for a long period and avoid loss of nutrition or change in taste.

Using top-level and pure quality precious metals as material, the tea canister combines Japanese traditional culture with jewellery and metal arts. Each collection is purely handmade in Japan. Kyoto Zuihodo brings the Japanese samurai spirit into full play, and overcomes the time consuming, difficult processes of creation in order to delicately create unique art pieces for collectors.

I would love to introduce 999 Pure Silver Teapot ‘Ajiro’.

The body of the teapot is of Ajiro patterns. Ajiro fish corf is a fishing tool used to lure river fish with the bait. It is said that being able to eat is a blessing. As a result, when more fish is caught, good fortune is coming.

Ajiro Teapot is made of a piece of pure silver by tools passed down from Meiji Period without welding. The hammering tools were refined by the craftsmen in Meiji Period in order to make particular patterns on silver teapots.

Using top-level, pure quality precious metals as materials and infusing traditional Japanese culture and jewellery and metal arts, every singular silver pot is homemade in Japan. Kyoto Zuihodo adopts the Japanese Samurai spirit which believes that no matter how hard the creative process is, or how long it might take, we can always overcome ourselves, hammering delicately to finish the most perfect works of art in our hearts and present them to collectors.

本日は純銀製芸術横手急須「網代紋」をご紹介いたします。

伝統の竹細工などの模様で良く知られる網代紋ですが、京都瑞鳳堂は急須にその模様を施しました。とても繊細で、大変時間も労力も費やすこの模様、取っ手は大変貴重な象牙でできておりますので、ギャラリーでは「京都瑞鳳堂の珍蔵品」として取り扱いをしており、もう同じデザインでの制作をする予定がない、本当に貴重な作品でございます。

99.9%の純銀であること、使用している道具は伝承してきた大変稀少なもの、何よりもその稀少な道具を用いてすべて手作りである事・・・一つ一つにこだわるからこそ出来た、京都瑞鳳堂でしか味わうことの出来ない逸品でございます。

京都瑞鳳堂以網代紋鎚打創作壺身。網代魚籠使用在獵捕河魚、川魚時，把誘餌放進魚籠內，引誘魚群的工具，古人云:食得是福,當魚隻捕獲的越多代表豐收、豐饒,固有吉祥之意.

Good afternoon. We would love to introduce our artwork that calls Kikko Arare.

The body of this teapot fuses two design concepts into the unique hexagonal Arare pattern hammered onto a turtle shell pattern. The pattern of Kikko-Arare shines with the help of aged silver colour as if a turtle with a black shell or at the same time the flakes of ice falling from the sky onto a huge rock. The knob on the teapot lid is in the shape of chrysanthemum. Both turtle and chrysanthemum represent longevity and auspiciousness in Japanese culture.

Kikko-Arare Teapot is made of a piece of pure silver by tools passed down from Meiji Period without welding. The body of this teapot is rounded and firmly stands. The teapot has a set lid on its top. The hammering tools were refined by the craftsmen in Meiji Period in order to make particular patterns on silver teapots and kettles.

実はこのピンクを帯びた古美仕上げの色は京都ならではだと言うのはご存知でしたか？亀甲模様を霰で表現したとても特徴的なデザインでございます。もちろん全て手作業で行っており、この精密な模様を施すのも至難の業です。一つ一つ丁寧に打ち出して作ってまいります。手技の成す芸術品の素晴らしさはやはり日本ならではの細やかさを垣間見ることが出来るのではないでしょうか？その細やかさが織り成す美しく魅力たっぷりの世界をご堪能くださいませ。

銀壺內每一顆霰形都是經由職人巧手重複捶打而出,看似相同的圓珠,由許多不同的工具完成,每一顆霰形有著自己的個性,卻在整體中不顯突兀.以驚人經驗計算圍繞而成的龜甲,帶給持有此壺的藏家滿滿的祝福,如龜甲寓意般吉祥如意多福.

Good afternoon.

Today we would love to introduce our artwork which calls Hasu that is our new design.

When your life is faced with the raucousness of the city and the bustle of your career, do you still remember the taste of peace and cleanness? Kyoto Zuihodo hopes to bring about in us a stable and peaceful mind when making tea by using the silver kettle, which is adorned with the pattern of lotus petals on its surface. The lotus has an unsullied temperament. Along with the purity and elegance of silver, the tea kettle lets us throw off the anxiety and cloudiness of our realities right away.

Starting from a piece of sterling silver using tools that have been passed down and retained from the Meiji era, the body of the kettle is made by hammering and completely eschewing the welding method. The shape of its lower abdomen is round and full, slightly and gradually closing up on the way up. There is also a neat twist made by hammers, which extends extend straight up to the lid. Hammering tools are the patrimony of Meiji era and are made by repeating a trimming technique to meet the requirements for craftsman in order to create specific patterns for silver pots and kettles, so they can hammer the unique vein lines.

Using top-level, pure quality precious metals as materials and infusing traditional Japanese culture and jewelry and metal arts, every singular silver pot is homemade in Japan. 蓮と言う植物は大変縁起が良いもので、お釈迦様が鎮座される台は蓮が使われます。これは池に美しく、厳かに浮かぶ蓮を表現した作品ですが、以前にも同じ「蓮」を制作いたしましたが、2016年版としていくつかデザインを変更いたし、さらに美しく、使いやすい作品となりました。

Good afternoon. We would love to our artwork today. It calls 999 Pure Silver incense container Kirikomi Zogan.

This is an inlayed incense container that is one of a tea ceremony goods.

The inlayed has a long history in Japan, where it was used to decorate katana fittings, particularly tsuba. Known as zougan in Japanese, it has developed its own subset of terms to describe the particular patterns.

It is quite small, but it has much more presence than the size.

皆様こんにちは。本日は純銀製香合　切込象嵌をご紹介いたします。

茶道具の一つでもある香合。煮込み技法で色付けしたものをはめ込んだ切込象嵌でございます。特徴としては上から叩いて嵌め込みますので、裏から見ても同じ模様が見る事が出来ますが、高い技術が無ければこの様にはなりません。小ぶりながらも存在感のある模様がひときわ味わいを深め、美しく輝くこの香合にお香を入れ、お茶席を楽しんではいかがでしょうか。

We would love to introduce to you our 999 pure silver teapot ‘Arare’ today.

The Arare pattern shines with the help of aged silver colour just like small flakes of ice falling from the sky onto a huge rock in the valley. The picture is so breath-taking that one can hardly move his eyes away from this masterpiece. The knob on the teapot lid stands in the shape of a shy lily with its bud waiting to blossom in spring.

本日は純銀製芸術横手急須「霰」のご紹介をいたします。

銀瓶の世界では霰模様はとても人気ですが、残念なことに近年は人気故大量生産に頼っているものがしばしば見受けられます。私たち京都瑞鳳堂では伝統的な道具を用い、先人たちの教えを貫き通した「手作り」にこだわり作品を制作しております。機械生産では見ることの出来ない見事な突起(機械で制作すると先端が丸くなります)、そして古美仕上げと言われる銀をいぶし、少しピンクがかった京都ならではの特徴的な色味を持ち合わせた大変芸術性の高い作品でございます。もちろん実用性にも優れておりますし、銀製品は熱伝導率が高く、不純物が溶けでませんので、お茶を淹れる際にご使用いただきますと、お茶本来のお味を楽しんでいただく事が出来ます。

霰,如雪般的白色晶粒,比雪更為細小,更加圓潤.常見的細微飄雪,大多為霰.霰的白與壺身古美的黑,白與黑的對比,再加上有如霰沉澱在芭蕉葉上厚實感,隱喻茶藝術中特有的平靜心靈,也帶來如夢似幻的浪漫.

完美呈現於壺身霰打呈現,每一個凸起的紋理,都必須經由精準的判斷與經驗,由內向外準確敲擊.霰打紋間的霧化處理,更是細膩中精采呈現.一只簡單的壺,透過技藝展現非凡!
