Good afternoon.

Today we would love to introduce our artwork which calls Hasu that is our new design.

When your life is faced with the raucousness of the city and the bustle of your career, do you still remember the taste of peace and cleanness? Kyoto Zuihodo hopes to bring about in us a stable and peaceful mind when making tea by using the silver kettle, which is adorned with the pattern of lotus petals on its surface. The lotus has an unsullied temperament. Along with the purity and elegance of silver, the tea kettle lets us throw off the anxiety and cloudiness of our realities right away.

Starting from a piece of sterling silver using tools that have been passed down and retained from the Meiji era, the body of the kettle is made by hammering and completely eschewing the welding method. The shape of its lower abdomen is round and full, slightly and gradually closing up on the way up. There is also a neat twist made by hammers, which extends extend straight up to the lid. Hammering tools are the patrimony of Meiji era and are made by repeating a trimming technique to meet the requirements for craftsman in order to create specific patterns for silver pots and kettles, so they can hammer the unique vein lines.

Using top-level, pure quality precious metals as materials and infusing traditional Japanese culture and jewelry and metal arts, every singular silver pot is homemade in Japan. Kyoto Zuihodo adopts the Japanese Samurai spirit which believes that no matter how hard the creative process is, or how long it might take, we can always overcome ourselves, hammering delicately to finish the most perfect works of art in our hearts and present them to collectors.

本日ご紹介いたしますのは純銀製芸術銀瓶「蓮」(2016年版)でございます。

蓮と言う植物は大変縁起が良いもので、お釈迦様が鎮座される台は蓮が使われます。これは池に美しく、厳かに浮かぶ蓮を表現した作品ですが、以前にも同じ「蓮」を制作いたしましたが、2016年版としていくつかデザインを変更いたし、さらに美しく、使いやすい作品となりました。

京都瑞鳳堂，以蓮與銀，同樣來自土壤，以剛和柔不同意境，打造銀壺藝術作品。

以時光交換,反覆槌打而出的蓮瓣，恰似平淡無奇，讓人有如夢幻般的想像。融合著宗教與文化的神祕性，卻能使複雜的心靈取得平靜，與茶藝術融為一體。

Good afternoon. We would love to our artwork today. It calls 999 Pure Silver incense container Kirikomi Zogan.

This is an inlayed incense container that is one of a tea ceremony goods.

The inlayed has a long history in Japan, where it was used to decorate katana fittings, particularly tsuba. Known as zougan in Japanese, it has developed its own subset of terms to describe the particular patterns.

It is quite small, but it has much more presence than the size.

茶道具の一つでもある香合。煮込み技法で色付けしたものをはめ込んだ切込象嵌でございます。特徴としては上から叩いて嵌め込みますので、裏から見ても同じ模様が見る事が出来ますが、高い技術が無ければこの様にはなりません。小ぶりながらも存在感のある模様がひときわ味わいを深め、美しく輝くこの香合にお香を入れ、お茶席を楽しんではいかがでしょうか。

純銀製芸術横手急須 「霰」

Teapot ‘Arare’.
We would love to introduce to you our 999 pure silver teapot ‘Arare’ today.

The Arare pattern shines with the help of aged silver colour just like small flakes of ice falling from the sky onto a huge rock in the valley. The picture is so breath-taking that one can hardly move his eyes away from this masterpiece. The knob on the teapot lid stands in the shape of a shy lily with its bud waiting to blossom in spring.

Arare is made of a piece of silver by tools passed down from Meiji Period without welding. The body of this teapot is rounded and firmly stands. The teapot has a set lid. The hammering tools were refined by the craftsmen in Meiji Period in order to make particular patterns on silver teapots and kettles.

本日は純銀製芸術横手急須「霰」のご紹介をいたします。

銀瓶の世界では霰模様はとても人気ですが、残念なことに近年は人気故大量生産に頼っているものがしばしば見受けられます。私たち京都瑞鳳堂では伝統的な道具を用い、先人たちの教えを貫き通した「手作り」にこだわり作品を制作しております。機械生産では見ることの出来ない見事な突起(機械で制作すると先端が丸くなります)、そして古美仕上げと言われる銀をいぶし、少しピンクがかった京都ならではの特徴的な色味を持ち合わせた大変芸術性の高い作品でございます。もちろん実用性にも優れておりますし、銀製品は熱伝導率が高く、不純物が溶けでませんので、お茶を淹れる際にご使用いただきますと、お茶本来のお味を楽しんでいただく事が出来ます。

霰,如雪般的白色晶粒,比雪更為細小,更加圓潤.常見的細微飄雪,大多為霰.霰的白與壺身古美的黑,白與黑的對比,再加上有如霰沉澱在芭蕉葉上厚實感,隱喻茶藝術中特有的平靜心靈,也帶來如夢似幻的浪漫.

完美呈現於壺身霰打呈現,每一個凸起的紋理,都必須經由精準的判斷與經驗,由內向外準確敲擊.霰打紋間的霧化處理,更是細膩中精采呈現.一只簡單的壺,透過技藝展現非凡!

從一片純銀片開始,使用明治時期所傳承,保留下的工具,鎚打製出壺身與顯著的霰形紋,完全避免了焊接.器形下腹圓潤飽滿,順上逐漸微收,鎚打出一道俐落轉折,再平直延伸上壺蓋.

明治期所傳承下的鎚打工具,皆為當時的職人為了打造特定的銀壺紋路而一再修整而製,方能鎚打出獨有的紋理.使用頂級,質量純粹的貴金屬為媒材,把日本傳統文化與金工藝術融為一體,每把銀壺皆為日本純手工製作,京都瑞鳳堂發揮日本武士精神,不論創作過程的艱難,耗費時間甚久,皆能戰勝自我,細膩地鎚打,為達心中期待呈現出最完美的藝術品給藏家們.

千両ヶ辻

今日9月22日は京都瑞鳳堂のある西陣のお祭り、「千両ヶ辻」が開催されました。

千両ヶ辻の由来はその昔、西陣がまだ織物問屋として栄えていた江戸時代に、一日に千両の稼ぎが有った問屋がほとんどだったことから、「千両ヶ辻」と呼ばれるようになりました。
一両の価値は今の貨幣価値でいくらか？江戸時代も約260年も続いていましたので、一概にもいくらという事が言えません。つまり貨幣価値は江戸時代の中でも変わり、初期は一両10万円前後と言われていましたが、中期にはその半分、幕末には4千円から一万円ほどだったと言われております。

しかしながら、一番良かった時期でも一日一億円の売り上げの問屋が数あったというのですから、とてつもない場所だったという事は言うまでもないでしょう。

前置きが長くなりましたが、本日の「千両ヶ辻」はあいにくのお天気ではありましたが、朝の10時頃にはたくさんの観光客の方が訪れてください、普段はお目にかかることの出来ない重要文化財に指定されている町家の見学をしたり、この日の為に準備された西陣織の反物を購入されたり、多くの方がそれぞれの楽しみ方をされておりました。

そして、ここ西陣は晴明神社のおひざ元でもあり、今日は晴明さんのお祭り、「晴明祭」も開催され、御神輿が界隈を練り歩きました。晴明さんの前は昔でこそたくさんの屋台が出て、それは賑やかでしたが、近年は少し縮小されたものの、「千両ヶ辻」は年々盛り上がりを見せ、多くの方が訪れます。京都瑞鳳堂は大宮通沿いにはございませんので、「千両ヶ辻」への出展はございませんでしたが、ギャラリーの前をお子さんたちが可愛い衣装に身を包み、見事なお囃子を奏でていました。きっと一生懸命練習されていたんでしょうね！そのあとは大人の御神輿があり、雨の中西陣界隈を練り歩かれました。

年に一回のお祭りではありますが、西陣という古き良き町をこの様に活気づける事が出来るのはとても素晴らしい事ですね。来年は京都瑞鳳堂も何かご協力できたらと願っております。

We would love to introduce our artwork which calls Enkomon today.

In Japanese, ‘En’ means relation, connection, bond or circle. For example family circle or circle of friends. Therefore ‘En’ is an auspicious word in Japan.

And ‘Enko’ means arc shape or circle.

Usually we adopt auspicious things as Japanese traditional artworks, because these are really important and valuable goods for our lives.

日本では「えん」をとても大事にします。「円(お金)」であったり、「縁」であったり、そして「円(和または輪)」であったり・・様々な「えん」がございます。円の字が入った円弧紋は縁起のある模様として伝統的な物によく使用されます。京都瑞鳳堂でも皆様との縁を大事にしたいという想いを込めてこの円弧紋をご紹介いたします。

今天我為你們介紹的是純銀製藝術銀瓶「円孤紋」。

藝術作品與光線融合為一體，真正的藝術創作能夠操作光線與色彩。

壺身經過上萬次的鎚打，所保留的鎚目紋如同花辮綻放，就像繪畫的生動筆觸，賦予銀壺生氣，在純銀素材上展現生命躍動。佐以精確計算而出圓弧造型藝術，完美詮釋「活的藝術」。幾何圖形與光線結合創作，不讓作品流露出現實物品圖樣，不僅帶來多層變化，也留給欣賞者自我詮釋的空間，這種視覺觀來自日本傳統概念：提升眼界去欣賞大自然的本質，體驗自然的變化與萬物存在的精隨。
